RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK (RTP), NORTH CAROLINA - October 2010
In an effort to bring advanced wireless devices to market faster, LaFox, Illinois-based Richardson Electronics, LTD has announced today a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with RTP, NC-based ClearConnex. The MOU outlines plans to sell the ClearComm Platform on key wireless products. Products within the plan include all OpenAT based modems from Maestro and Sierra Wireless, as well as any Sierra Wireless Modules with OpenAT Operating System support.
The ClearComm Platform is developed by ClearConnex, a wireless device software development company. This expands on ClearConnex’s current role with Richardson as second level support for Richardson customers using wireless modems and modules.
FLEXIBILITY. SCALABILITY. ADAPTABILITY Chris Marshall, Vice President RF & Wireless, at Richardson Electronics explains, “Finding M2M wireless device software that’s flexible and effective is difficult. Our customers can now purchase key wireless devices from us with the ClearComm Solution preloaded and they won’t have to invest another cent on hardware, mechanical design or software development. This is a M2M industry first.
And if for some reason our customers want to add features or update capabilities on ClearComm Software, we will now have an easily customizable M2M communication platform that can reduce or eliminate our customer’s software development time.”
A NEW STANDARD OF EXCELLENCE. Manuel Zepeda, President of ClearConnex explains, “Our ClearComm Platform is setting a new standard of excellence in compatibility and flexibility in the M2M wireless device software world. Richardson’s interest in selling our software with key OpenAT OS-based Maestro and Sierra Wireless Modems and Sierra Wireless Modules speaks for itself.”
