Keys of ChoiceHow many variables do you wish to monitor with Alert, knowing that Alert licences are distributed by threshold??
NB: Definition of the notion of variables Any source of alarm identified as such in the messages and mentioned in the Alert scanning list is defined as variable. On which media do you wish to receive alarms, knowing that you can combine several means?Vocal message?
Written message?
In the event of vocal alarm, in which type of telecom network must Alert be integrated?
AnalogicalThe analogical network is the most widely used, but the least reliable in the long term. Recently, the analog modems range embedding the vocal server feature needed to transmit vocal alarms has shrinked significantly, moreover there has been the great degradation of these products quality. Micromedia now advises that the analogical mode should not be used insofar as the durability of associated products is seriously threatened. Indeed, in the long term, there is no guarantee of being able to find products for replacing the present modems on the market. Furthermore, Micromedia strongly discourages the of analogical mode for vocal alarms transmission. Even if the user has an analogical network, it is sometimes easily feasible to bring a digital line into the analogical autocom. It is a good idea to estimate the cost of bringing in a line or migrate to digital, regardless of what is finally decided. If, despite everything, the analogical network remains the only solution, the references for modems tested by Micromedia are: Digital (ISDN / RNIS)Micromedia recommends this digital mode, which, unlike the analogical mode, gives guarantees in terms of durability and reliability. Moreover, digital is distinguished from analogical by a better transmission quality, much faster, and with a greater capacity for carrying out several communications at the same time on the same line. Micromedia references: TCP/IPThe telecommunication system via network is the solution for the future. It will develop on account of its almost complete flexibility of communications in this case. It is also distinguished by its low cost price. You can use the voice over IP (VoIP) integrated in Alert. The only restriction is to call IP phones and/or PABX compatible with the sip protocol. How do I choose the most suitable modem, according to the chosen media?Summary table (Presentation : available medias - compatible modems)Do you want to be able to use Alert in server / client mode via Internet?Alert can be managed through a distant machine connected to the internet or to the firm internal network. This option enables the operator to configure and exploit the Alert software remotely from different client stations.
The connection with the server can be either a TCP/IP connection or a modem connection (via a remote access configured on the server). AlertWeb and AlertClient are provided with the Alert remote control option. The price of the option depends on the maximum number of clients likely to log on to the server simultaneously and the maximum number of variables of Alerts licence. There are 3 levels for this option:
