RFID
Active Cordless Identification Device (ACID) is a Radio Frequency technology used as a security system that could track the movements of staff throughout an enterprise or those of customers throughout a park.
The principles upon which ACID is based are quite straight forward, even though the technology and the way it operates can be quite sophisticated. Just as one doesn’t need to understand the technicalities of a mobile phone or PC to use them, the same holds true of ACID.

An ACID system typically consists of a "Tag/Label/PCB" containing data storage, an Antenna to communicate with the Tag, and a Controller to manage the communication between the Antenna and the PC or PLC

ACID advantages reside in the fact that it provides positive patron identification, age verification, tracking, and access control. It further dramatically improves system efficiency, while preventing data entry and collection errors. Another advantage of ACID is that it yields larger memory capacities, wider reading ranges, and faster processing than bar codes. This technology works reliably in any environment—wet or dry, day or night.

ACID tags can be programmed and printed on demand by direct thermal or thermal transfer printer/programmers.
