The Alcatel OmniPCX Office Call Server provides state-of-the-art
telephony services for you and your company's callers. Its numerous
features include embedded voicemail, personal assistant, automated
attendant and teamwork features - everything you need to make
your telephones not just smart, but also user friendly.
Personal welcome
Embedded Personal Assistant
The Personal Assistant allows an employee who is away from his
or her desk to offer callers up to five alternate destinations:
voicemail, GSM number, external number, internal number (secretary),
or operator. This flexible call re-routing function is pre-configured
and very easy to manage. The personal assistant can be activated
and customized remotely.
Up-to-date embedded voicemail
The powerful voicemail system can store up to 200 hours of messages
and functions with 2 to 8 ports. Since voicemail is essential
in the business world, the Alcatel OmniPCX Office includes this
as a basic feature provided with every system. Voicemail is
made available to all employees, regardless of the telephone
sets they use. It is even available on PCs, with PIMphony, for
maximum comfort and user friendliness.
The voicemail application can be directly integrated with the
e-mail server to deliver a unified messaging solution that improves
user efficiency by providing e-mail and voicemail in a single
user interface.
Smart and friendly services
Teamwork
Alcatel OmniPCX Office is a good team worker. It offers the
classic manager-secretary tandem functions, providing the manager
with call screening, while providing both the manager and secretary
with direct call and supervision of each other's telephones.
It is also possible to create workgroups with a single phone
number (e.g., a sales department) and a common shared voice
mailbox. Workgroups can use features like set monitoring (keep
track of the status of each phone in the group from your Reflexes
set), pickup (intercept and answer a call placed to any person
in the group), broadcast (speak on the group's loudspeaker),
and unanswered call notification.
Call screening
With voicemail on, you can listen to the messages being left
and decide whether you wish to speak with the caller.
Call recording
Conversations can be recorded online, with the recording stored
in the voice mailbox.
Dial by name
Dial by name is the easiest way to make a call. Even though
you may not know the extension or phone number of the person
who you want to call, you know his name. To call him, simply
dial his name on the keypad.
More smart services
Your telephone is not just smart, but is also user friendly,
as it provides three-way conference calls, easy call transfer
and voice prompts for easy customization of any kind of telephone
set. Soft keys and contextual icons are available on Reflexes
sets.
System welcome
Greeting
How callers are greeted reflects your company's professionalism.
The call server provides various greeting features to welcome
callers.
- Greetings can be individual or programmed on a group or
company level
- Up to eight greeting messages can be created
- Greeting messages can vary with the time of day (lunchtime,
opening hours, etc.) and the importance of the call
- Fax messages are automatically detected
Music/message on hold
The system can provide either music or a message while callers
are waiting to be put through. A 16-second musical call hold
feature (copyright free) is available and can be customized
to be up to 2 minutes long (10 minutes with storage on a hard
disk).
Automated Attendant
The automated attendant allows you to welcome your callers 24
hours a day. It is also a significant help to your operator
at peak times, as it automatically connects your callers to
the right departments. With this feature you can also broadcast
information such as opening hours.
Cost-effective services
Automatic Route Selection (ARS)
When your company uses several carriers and service providers,
ARS automatically analyses the numbers in order to route calls
in the least expensive way. Whatever kind of phone you use,
and whether you use direct or indirect access, analog or digital
connection, ARS chooses the cheapest route. This will depend
upon the time of day and the day of the week. This system takes
full advantage of price differentials in today's fiercely competitive
telecoms market.
Metering solutions
Alcatel offers a wide range of metering solutions to meet everyone's
needs. Starting from standalone all-in-one solutions (Alcatel
Elitecost) to server-based solutions for up to 250 extensions
(or even 3000 extensions) with the Alcatel OmniVista 4760.
